General Summary
Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, participates in the nursing process in delivering care to patients and their families. Duties and responsibilities include direct care activities required in daily practice on the assigned unit. Fulfillment of the job duties requires the employee to have access to medication storage areas and transport medications to/from medication storage and delivery areas.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

This role performs various routine support functions as listed below. Functions may vary based upon the unit assigned.
1.Assists the registered nurse assigned to the patient with the assessment of the patient by monitoring parameters outlined by the registered nurse in accordance with the Nursing Standards of Practice. 2.Assists the registered nurse assigned to the patient in planning of nursing care by providing input to the nurse related to the observed effects of previous treatments or nursing care.
Qualifications
1.High school diploma or equivalent required. 2.Currently enrolled in good academic standing in an accredited pre-licensure MSN, BSN or ADN program. 3.Passing grade (C or better) in Fundamentals/Foundations of Nursing (transcript required). 4.Current BLS card (AHA or American Red Cross) required. 5.Previous experience preferred.
